Afterglow

AFTERGLOW LYRICS

Center on the wide horizon

Focus on the galaxy

Sweep away your expectations

Recognise your enemies

I hear you talking to yourself

You're stripping off for someone else

You've got to learn to love yourself

That's all that counts

There's little else

You're always looking for affection

And all it's possibilities

Your senses searching for attention

In urgent need of gravity

I think you think you're someone else

You've got to learn to save yourself

Before you find there's nothing left

But bitterness

And anger

And afterglow

And afterglow

you are too introspective, get outside your own head and see the bigger picture.

Afterglow is the gospel according to what Shirley Manson learned in therapy, a line by line guide to how to live your life. xx

can you believe, such an atmospheric song, as always a b-side that is far better quality than many a-sides. Garbage are quality, quality, quality and yet they still insist on releasing 'commercial' songs. Afterglow is eerie and scarey and totally depressing and in my opinion ranks as one of the best songs from the band ever.

"centre on the wide horizon ... galaxy" all ... "bitterness and hardness, and afterglow..."
