Push It

LYRICS PUSH IT

I was angry when I met you

I think I'm angry still

We can try to talk it over

If you say you'll help me out

Don't worry baby (don't worry baby)

No need to fight

Don't worry baby (don't worry baby)

We'll be alright

This is the noise that keeps me awake

My head explodes and my body aches

Push it, make the beats go harder

Push it, make the beats go harder

I'm sorry that I hurt you

Please don't ask me why

I want to see you happy

I want to see you shine

Don't worry baby (don't worry baby)

Don't be uptight

Don't worry baby (don't worry baby)

We'll stay up all night

C'mon push it, you can do it

C'mon prove it, nothing to it

C'mon use it, let's get through it

C'mon push it, you can do it

Don't worry baby (don't worry baby)

Don't be uptight

Don't worry baby (don't worry baby)

We'll stay up all night

Don't worry baby

We'll be alright

Don't worry baby

We'll be alright

Push it

Push it

Push it

Push it

 Push it

there is a 2007 radio mix of Push It by Chris Sheldon that I will feature as soon as possible

It may be that Push It is simply a reflection of one of Shirley's relationships when she wrote the song. It's about the excitement of sex when couples argue and make up.

The video is much more complex and has various influences, including the X-Files and Sci-fi. It was directed by Andrea Giacobbe in March 1998 and contains many different images that don't seem connected.

The three boys visiting Shirley is a reference to garbage folklore; when Butch, Steve & Duke contacted Shirley before the band was formed she was 'doing the washing up'.

I think Push It is about using loud rock music and energetic sex to forget worries and disagreements and have a good time. This is a woman encouraging a lover to satisfy her and 'make things right' between them, but does he really want to?
